Smokescreen

opening

Nebula Puff [C]

The term smoke screen originates from military jargon and originally referred to the tactical use of smoke to conceal troop movements, positions, or equipment from the enemy. In this sense, it denotes a physical barrier that prevents full comprehension of reality through the opponent’s vision — and simultaneously becomes a tool for manipulating the perception of the battlefield.

The exhibition is a retrospective gaze upon the environment that shapes our collective visual consciousness. It is an exploration of the aesthetics of error as a new quality — one that reveals a metaphysical charge — and a compilation of subcultural traces archived through digital space. Corrosion recontextualizes the object; error reveals itself through the wear and uselessness of material. The intention of advertising is turned inside out, like embroidery flipped to its reverse, exposing a demonic face that is an inseparable part of existence.
