W projekcie grafiki wydarzenia użyto detali prac Aliny Szapocznikow Ventre (Brzuch) oraz Katarzyny Kozyry Kobiety czekają.

The exhibition presents works by artists of the 20th and 21st centuries, including Magdalena Abakanowicz, Alina Szapocznikow, Katarzyna Kozyra, Izabella Gustowska, Teresa Pągowska, Tadeusz Kantor, Jerzy Nowosielski, Wojciech Fangor, and Marc Chagall.

On view are paintings, sculptures, prints, objects, light boxes, and photographs in which figuration meets abstraction. The works come from the collections of the Voelkel Foundation and the Wielkopolska Zachęta.

Curator Marta Smolińska weaves them into a story about the condition of the human being in the contemporary world. Themes include: personal and historical experience (Erna Rosenstein), longing for home and safety (Tadeusz Kantor, Mariusz Kruk), relationship with nature (Basia Bańda, Kazimierz Pochwalski), the need for spirituality (Jankiel Adler), fear of loneliness, illness, and transience (Magdalena Abakanowicz, Katarzyna Kozyra, Alina Szapocznikow).

The title—borrowed from Dorota Masłowska’s novel “The Magic Wound”—symbolizes the explosive nature of emotions and the tension that resonates in the exhibited works, from passion to a sense of threat.
